Installation Recommendations
Recommended for experienced technicians or competent DIYers. Basic procedure:
- Prepare tools: Torx/Spline drivers, trim removal tools, ratchet set and screwdrivers. Have protective gloves and eye protection.
- Remove interior door trim carefully to access the handle mounting area and linkage. Keep clips and screws organized for reassembly.
- Disconnect any electrical connector only if present (e.g., for central locking sensors) and note connector position for reassembly.
- Undo mounting bolts/screws securing the handle from inside the door, release the linkage rods or clips, and remove the old handle.
- Transfer any required mounting plates, gaskets or trim pieces from the old handle to the new one if necessary.
- Fit the new handle, reconnect linkage and any connectors, then secure mounting fasteners to the manufacturer’s recommended tightness. Ensure smooth movement and correct latch engagement before reattaching door trim.
- Check locking/unlocking and manual operation through the full range of motion. Adjust alignment if necessary to prevent binding or excessive play.
