Replacement Procedure
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and switch off all electrical consumers.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid short circuits while working on the lighting circuit.
- Open the tailgate and remove the interior trim or access panel to reach the rear lamp assembly.
- Remove the lamp assembly fasteners and carefully pull the lamp out to access the socket connector.
- Disconnect the original socket connector, remove the old socket from the lamp housing and replace it with the new socket supplied.
- Transfer bulbs if required (note: bulb operation was not tested) or fit new bulbs as needed, then reconnect the wiring and secure the lamp assembly back in place.
- Reconnect the battery, test all lamp functions (tail, brake, indicator, reverse if applicable) before reassembling the trim.

Most Common Reasons For Failure

Loose or oxidized contacts cause intermittent operation and increased resistance, which accelerates deterioration.
