Description
Overview
High-quality ABS/ESP pump and hydraulic unit by ATE with partial wiring harness, suitable for Citroën C5 II. Designed to manage braking pressure during ABS and ESP interventions, restoring vehicle stability and braking control.
Fitment And Origin
This unit was removed from a 2006 Citroën C5 II 2.0 HDi (RHR) Estate. The package includes the pump, control module block (IIMK60 CEM 00) and a section of wiring harness.
Function And Symptoms Of Failure
The ABS/ESP pump pressurizes and modulates brake fluid to operate anti-lock braking and electronic stability control valves. Typical failure signs include ABS and ESP warning lights, intermittent pump noise, reduced braking assistance, unusual pedal feel, error codes related to hydraulic pressure or communication faults, and visible fluid leaks or corrosion on the unit.
Replacement Notes
Professional or competent DIY installation recommended. Basic steps: disconnect the battery, secure the vehicle, drain or contain brake fluid, disconnect electrical connectors and brake lines (mark lines to preserve routing), unbolt the pump assembly, fit and torque lines to manufacturer specifications, reconnect wiring and battery. After mechanical installation the system must be properly bled. For complete air removal and valve/pump activation, a diagnostic tool capable of ABS/ESP cycling is strongly recommended; otherwise perform careful hydraulic bleeding followed by repeated ABS activations if available.
Causes Of Failure
Failures are commonly caused by corrosion, water ingress, internal pump wear, electrical connector faults or valve block issues. Vehicles exposed to salted roads or with neglected brake fluid changes are at higher risk.
