Description
Turbocharger for Citroën and Peugeot vehicles with 1.6 e-HDI engine. Oil feed pipe is not included. Thoroughly tested.
Description
Garrett turbo GTC1244VZ (reference 9686120680, 0375P7 / 0375P8) is a direct-fit replacement for the 1.6 e-HDI diesel engines used across several Citroën and Peugeot models. Designed to restore engine boost response, torque delivery and drivability, this turbocharger provides OE-compatible fitment and mounting points for a straightforward swap on compatible vehicles. Oil feed pipe is not included; reuse or replace the original oil feed/return lines and sealing gaskets during installation to ensure reliable lubrication and long service life.
Features & Benefits
- Direct replacement for OE-referenced turbochargers, designed for 1.6 e-HDI engines.
- High-quality Garrett manufacture for durable performance and precise balancing.
- Restores factory boost levels and driveability when replacing a worn or damaged turbo.
- Compatible with original mounting, sensor and actuator interfaces for easier installation.
Compatible Models

Installation And Replacement
Replacement of the turbocharger should be performed by a trained technician or an experienced DIY mechanic with the correct tools. Typical replacement steps:
- Allow the engine to cool completely. Relieve intake pressure and disconnect the battery if required by the vehicle service procedure.
- Remove intake and intercooler pipes to gain access to the turbocharger.
- Drain engine oil to avoid contamination when disconnecting oil feed and return lines. Note: Oil feed pipe is not included with this turbo—inspect and replace the pipe and seals if worn or blocked.
- Disconnect oil and coolant lines (if applicable), vacuum hoses and electrical connectors to sensors or actuators attached to the turbo.
- Unbolt the turbocharger from the exhaust manifold and downpipe, transfer any required brackets, sensors or actuators to the new unit if not supplied.
- Fit new gaskets and seals on all connections. Torque bolts to manufacturer specifications and verify correct alignment.
- Before first start, prime the turbo oil supply by cranking the engine with fuel/ignition disabled or by pre-filling the turbo oil gallery where possible to prevent dry start damage.
- Start the engine, idle until oil pressure is stable, check for oil/leakage and exhaust leaks, then perform a controlled test drive and recheck fasteners and connections.
Most Common Failure Causes
- Oil starvation or contaminated oil leading to bearing wear—often caused by overdue oil changes, clogged oil feed or return lines, or blocked oil filters.
- Carbon and soot buildup from EGR or poor combustion that restricts oil passages or fouls the turbine/compressor.
- Foreign object damage to the compressor or turbine wheels (ingestion from intake side or exhaust backflow).
- Boost leaks, failed actuator or vacuum lines causing over‑stress or incorrect turbo operation.
- Excessive thermal stress from repeated overheating or improper warm-up/cool-down habits.

Installation Recommendations
- Always replace oil and oil filter before and shortly after turbo replacement to remove contaminants.
- Inspect and, if necessary, replace oil feed and return pipes, seals and gasket sets to ensure unrestricted lubrication.
- Use manufacturer torque values and follow the vehicle service manual for sequence and tightening stages.
- Prime the turbo with oil prior to first start and avoid heavy engine load or high RPM for the first few minutes of operation.
- Check related systems (EGR, PCV, intercooler and intake piping) that can cause premature turbo deterioration if faulty.
