Features and Function

The exterior door handle provides the mechanical interface to open the rear left door. It transfers user input through linkages or cables to the door latch mechanism. The painted finish (EZR Grey Aluminium) matches factory appearance and protects the handle surface from corrosion and UV exposure. Constructed to the original mounting points for direct fit replacement.

Fitment

Primary fitment is for Citroën C5 first generation (approx. 2001–2008) and second generation (approx. 2008–2017). Always check the listed product codes (9631831077, 9644270277, 9101S7) when searching to ensure compatibility with your specific vehicle build.

Installation Recommendations

• Tools Required: Trim removal tools, Torx/Phillips screwdrivers, socket set, and pliers.
• Procedure Overview: Remove interior door panel and trim to access the handle fasteners; disconnect any linkages or rods from the latch; unbolt the external handle from inside the door; install the new handle, reconnect linkages, and test operation before reassembling the door card.
• Tip: Keep fasteners and clips organized and inspect door panel clips for damage during reassembly. If the handle features painted surface, handle with clean gloves to avoid fingerprints.
• Safety: Support the door inner panel when working to avoid bending or damaging the door skin. Follow manufacturer torque recommendations for bolts where available.

Why This Part Fails

Common failure modes include plastic fatigue or breakage in the lever mechanism, corrosion of internal metal components, worn pivot points, and damage from impacts or forced entry attempts. Sun exposure and repeated use can make painted plastic brittle over many years, leading to cracks. Cables or linkage clips that connect the handle to the latch may also stretch or detach, resulting in non-functioning handles.

Maintenance Tips

• Lubricate moving parts and latch linkages periodically with a suitable light grease to reduce wear.
• Inspect mounting points and clips during routine service and replace any brittle plastic parts immediately.
• Protect painted surfaces from scratches and treat exposed metal components to limit corrosion.

Mounting
