Compatibility And Application

Fits the rear inner lamp (left and right) of Citroën C5 II sedan models. Often referenced and searched for by the listed product codes—customers commonly locate this part using the reference number for quick replacement.

Function And Features

• Holds the bulb securely and provides the electrical contact between the bulb and vehicle wiring.
• Includes a short length of wiring (pigtail) to simplify connection or repair of a damaged harness plug.
• Durable plastic body with metal contacts; designed for direct plug-in replacement in the inner rear lamp assembly.

Installation Recommendations

• Disconnect the battery before starting work to avoid short circuits and prevent potential damage.
• Access the inner lamp by removing the trunk trim or rear seat access panel as required on the C5 II sedan.
• Unclip and remove the lamp assembly, then push out the old socket from the lamp housing or release any retaining tabs.
• Replace the socket, connect the pigtail to the original harness (or splice if required), and ensure secure, corrosion-free contacts.
• Use a small amount of dielectric grease on contacts to reduce corrosion and improve long-term conductivity.
• After installation, test all lamp functions (tail, stop, indicator as applicable) before reassembling the trim.

Reason For Most Common Failures

• Corrosion of metal contacts due to moisture ingress—one of the most frequent causes of poor connection or intermittent lighting.
• Heat damage or contact burning from overloaded or faulty bulbs, causing melted plastic or degraded contacts.
• Mechanical wear and vibration leading to cracked housing, broken terminals or detached wiring.
• Water ingress from damaged seals or faulty lamp installation allowing contaminants to reach the socket.

Practical Notes

Bulbs are not guaranteed to be functional with this item; when replacing the socket, inspect bulbs and wiring for damage and replace as necessary. Searching by the reference numbers in this listing often speeds up finding the correct replacement for Citroën C5 II rear inner lamps.

Recommendation

For a reliable repair, fit the new socket using secure connections and protective measures (dielectric grease, heat-shrink or quality connectors). If the original lamp assembly shows signs of water ingress or extensive damage, consider further inspection or replacement of the lamp housing to prevent repeat failures.

As with many car parts, the rear lamp base can wear out over time due to exposure to heat and moisture. Properly replacing this component can ensure that your vehicle’s lighting system remains functional. Although the functionality of bulbs is not guaranteed, this replacement part is crucial for those who want to upgrade or maintain their vehicle’s lighting system.
